We all require the services of a good plumber. Our homes all have water heaters, pipes, and plumbing systems and they need regular maintenance and occasionally a problem will arise that requires expert assistance. This is when we would call our local plumber in Bradford.

However, people often complain that plumbers never arrive when they say will arrive. Leaving people with blocked pipes, drains, burst pipes or worse.

Some plumbers also have a reputation for failing to complete the job in a professional manner meaning the job has to be re-done by another plumber for an additional cost.

The most common grievance people have is plumbers charging more than was initially quoted for the work completed.

So, if you haven't hired one before how can you filter out the rubbish, avoid the aforementioned problems and spot an unreliable plumber before it's too late?

Well, there are two quick and easy ways...

Check online sites such as Google Places, Yelp!, Local tradesman review sites, and Yellow Pages. Look out for all perfect reviews, this is usually a sign the reviews aren't genuine. Similarly, you may notice some over the top negative reviews that are disingenuine. You can usually spot these as they will be copied and pasted on numerous review sites, they will use the same username, or be written in a similar style.

Alternatively, ask friends, family, and colleagues for recommendations. This is a great way to find a reliable plumber in your local area as you know they have done good work for someone you trust in the past.

Whichever route you take to get a shortlist of at least three plumbers and get them all to quote for the work. When they quote be sure to quiz them on the nature of the work, timescales, and anything else you feel you need to know before work commences.

Stick to these pointers and you will find a reliable local plumber in no time!
